India's table tennis star Manika Batra has raised concerns over the consistency of the selection process after being dropped from the Asian Games squad. The 31-year-old was excluded due to her absence from domestic events, which affected her ranking in the Table Tennis Federation of India rankings.

Batra has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, seeking attention over her omission from the squad and questioning the selection process.

The veteran paddler remains one of India's biggest names in table tennis, with multiple Commonwealth Games medals and a historic mixed doubles bronze at the 2018 Asian Games. She is currently ranked 51st among India's female paddlers.
