Houston Texans defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr. will undergo season-ending foot surgery, according to multiple reports. The 28-year-old starter suffered the injury during the team's 20-16 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, but the exact timing of the injury is unclear. Defensive coordinator Matt Burke expressed his disappointment over Settle's injury, praising his performance this season. 'Sad news, Tim was playing really good football for us and was having a really good season,' Burke said. 'Hurting for him and what he's going through.' Settle has been a key player for the Texans, starting all 12 games and recording 15 tackles, one sack, three tackles for loss, and three passes defensed. The team's top-ranked defense, which allows 265.7 yards and 16.5 points per game, will now have to rely on other players to fill the void. Tommy Togiai, 26, is listed as the backup defensive tackle and has shown promise this season with 31 tackles, one-half sack, and four tackles for loss in 10 games. Settle was drafted by Washington in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and has a career total of 133 tackles, 15 sacks, 30 tackles for loss, and three fumble recoveries in 124 regular-season games.
