New Delhi: As the United States marks 250 years of independence, the UFC is staging a fight card on the grounds of the White House. The symbolism is odd and impossible to miss: a cage erected in the backyard of the most powerful political office in the world, under the banner of freedom, patriotism and the American dream.

The event, UFC Freedom 250, features a main event between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje, as well as a co-main event between Alex Pereira and Cyril Gane. The card also includes fights between Sean O'Malley and Aiemann Zahabi, Josh Hokit and Derrick Lewis, Mauricio Ruffy and Michael Chandler, Bo Nickal and Kyle Daukaus, and Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia.

The event coincides with Donald Trump's 80th birthday and will be held without a women's fight. The expected crowd of 4,300 people will consist primarily of invited guests, including U.S. military service members and veterans.
