Mumbai: Veer Chotrani, a 24-year-old squash pro, has been on a roll lately, climbing to a career-best world No. 43 from outside 150 in October 2024. His recent victories, including a win against world No. 20 Baptiste Masotti at the Squash on Fire Open in January, have given him the confidence to take on top players.

Chotrani, son of former national champion Manish Chotrani, has been working with a mental conditioning coach, Jesse Engelbrecht, to improve his mental game. He believes that the biggest driving factor is to go a level up and beat the top players consistently.

The Mumbai pro is now focused on the Asian Games later this year, where he hopes to secure a spot in the singles event and eventually compete in the 2028 LA Olympics. With two Indians ahead of him in the rankings, the fight to compete in singles will be close, but Chotrani is determined to make it happen.
