Four-time world champion Max Verstappen has hinted at a potential Formula One retirement at the end of the 2026 season due to his growing unease with the new regulations.
Verstappen, who finished eighth in the Japanese Grand Prix, expressed his dissatisfaction with the current championship format, which features a 50-50 split between conventional and electrical power.
He described his car as 'undriveable' and stated that he is 'not enjoying the whole formula behind' this season's championship.
Verstappen has repeatedly criticized the new regulations, and when asked if he could walk away from the sport, he replied that he was 'thinking about everything inside this paddock.'
He also mentioned that he would like to return to a more enjoyable and fun experience in F1, but at the moment, that's not the case.
