The Hero Indian Open, a tournament steeped in history and tradition, is set to take center stage this week. The event has been a launchpad for Indian golfers seeking international recognition, and this year's field is no exception. Akshay Bhatia, the world No. 22, leads the charge, fresh from his biggest win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Bhatia's sharp wedges and putting have been the cornerstone of his game lately, and he's looking to make a statement in his first visit to India for competitive golf. Other young guns to watch out for include Kartik Singh, who made history by making the cut at the International Series India last year, and Rayhan Thomas, India's No. 1 amateur turned pro, who has been playing solid golf on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Other notable players in the field include Saptak Talwar, the hottest golfer in domestic golf right now, and David Puig, a relentless pursuit to get an invitation to the Masters. Casey Jarvis, a two-time winner in his last three starts, is also expected to make a strong showing. Meanwhile, Shubhankar Sharma and Yuvraj Singh Sandhu, India's two stars with cards on the DP World Tour, will be looking to bounce back with a top-5 result.
