Tripura has taken a significant step towards modernising its transport and tourism infrastructure with the launch of an app-based cab service and a new Tourist Information Centre at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.
State Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury inaugurated the facilities, describing the initiative as the beginning of a new chapter of technology-driven convenience and modernity in Tripura’s transport and tourism sectors.
The inaugural programme also virtually connected Agartala Railway Station and Jogendranagar Railway Station, where the app-based cab service was simultaneously launched. The integrated service is aimed at providing passengers and tourists with easier access to transportation from major entry points across the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the adoption of digital technology would create new opportunities for people travelling to and from airports and railway stations, making their journeys safer, more convenient and comfortable.
The Tripura Government is focusing on the wider use of technology to strengthen transport facilities and promote tourism. The initiative is expected to improve connectivity, enhance visitor experience and contribute to Tripura’s vision of becoming a modern, safe and tourist-friendly destination.
