Several major development projects under the Tripura Transport Department are expected to be inaugurated by December this year, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s transport infrastructure.
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the development while speaking to the media following a review meeting of the State Transport Department held at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
The Minister said the upcoming projects would mark the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Transport Department in Tripura, with emphasis on improving transport-related infrastructure and services across the state.
The review meeting was attended by senior officials from several key departments, including Public Works, Transport, Rural Development, Tourism and Water Resources. The meeting was chaired by Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
Discussions reportedly focused on the progress of ongoing projects, inter-departmental coordination and measures required to ensure timely completion of development initiatives.
The Transport Department’s plans are expected to contribute to improved connectivity and infrastructure while supporting tourism and rural development in Tripura.
The Minister’s announcement has raised expectations that several long-awaited projects will become operational within the targeted timeline, giving further momentum to the state’s transportation and infrastructure development.
