Singer-composer Amaal Mallik has accused powerful people in the film and music industry of sidelining him and removing him from more than 60 projects over the years.

Amaal shared a long note on social media, apologizing to his fans and stating that he is content with doing indie music if he doesn't get films.

He claimed that the 'big boys' in powerful positions have got him out of 20 films that he considered beneath him, and that he has been doing his best for the last 8 years, but 'powerful people' within the industry don't want him to be a part of their films.

Amaal stopped short of naming the people he accused of sabotaging his career, but added that 'someday', he will retaliate.

He also quipped that even his family connections haven't helped him, saying 'even nepotism isn't working'.

Amaal made his Bollywood debut as a composer with Salman Khan's Jai Ho in 2014, but gained fame with the song Sooraj Dooba Hai from Roy the following year.
