Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music and memories. The singer, known for her incredible talent and versatility, breathed her last at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday.
Amitabh Bachchan, among many others, took to social media to pay tribute to the iconic singer, calling her demise the end of an era. Bachchan wrote, 'Her soul shall remain forever with us,' in a heartfelt post.
Asha Bhosle's family allowed loved ones to pay their last respects at her residence, where she was wrapped in an Indian flag as a mark of respect. The final respects will continue till 3 PM, after which the funeral procession will proceed to Shivaji Park crematorium.
Asha Bhosle was a seven-time winner of the Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Award and a two-time winner of the National Film Award. She was also honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honour in the country.
