Sunny Deol's highly anticipated war drama Border 2 is set for a blockbuster opening at the box office this weekend. The film's advance booking, which began on Monday, has already surpassed ₹2.5 crore in just 24 hours, surpassing the total advance bookings of Jaat and outpacing recent hits Dhurandhar and Gadar 2. According to Sacnilk, the film has sold a staggering 73,000 tickets across 11,000 shows in India, with the pace accelerating by the hour. As of Tuesday morning, Border 2 was selling 2,000 tickets per hour on BookMyShow, indicating a strong demand for the film. Border 2's impressive advance booking numbers have set it ahead of Sunny Deol's previous big releases Jaat and Gadar 2, as well as Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar. With three days to go for its release, the film is on course for a massive opening day collection. Directed by Anurag Singh and starring Sunny Deol alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, Border 2 is a sequel to the iconic 1997 blockbuster Border. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, the film is set to release in theatres on January 23, ahead of the Republic Day.
