The release of Ikkis, a war drama based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Second Lt Arun Khetarpal, has been pushed back to January 1, 2026. The film's producer, Dinesh Vijan, revealed that the decision was made to avoid clashing with the current box office hit, Dhurandhar, and other upcoming releases. Speaking to PTI, Vijan explained that Ikkis requires a solo release to allow the audience to fully appreciate its story. 'This film needs space to breathe in theaters,' he said, citing the success of previous solo releases like Chhaava and Pushpa. With a packed December schedule, including the release of Tu Meri Main Tera and Avatar: Fire and Ash, Vijan felt that postponing Ikkis to January would be beneficial for the film's business. 'When God is giving, take it,' he added. Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra in his final film appearance, will now hit theaters on January 1, 2026, alongside supporting actor Jaideep Ahlawat. The film's new release date allows it to stand out in the new year and give audiences the opportunity to experience its gripping story without any competition.
