Bollywood producer Dinesh Vijan's production house Maddock Films has been on a roll, thanks to its horror-comedy universe. The success began with the 2018 sleeper hit Stree, which was initially met with skepticism by other producers. In an interview, Vijan revealed that he had to fund the film himself due to the reluctance of others, who dismissed the title as unworkable. Stree, made on a modest budget of ₹25 crore, went on to gross ₹180 crore worldwide and spawned a sequel, Stree 2, which became the highest-grossing Hindi film in India, earning ₹601 crore. Maddock's recent release Chhaava also broke box office records, raking in over ₹800 crore worldwide. Vijan credits their recent success to being bolder in their approach, with a willingness to take calculated risks. Their upcoming film, Ikkis, a war drama directed by Sriram Raghavan, is set to release on January 1, 2026. The film tells the story of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, and stars a talented ensemble cast. Maddock Films' success story serves as a testament to the power of innovative storytelling and taking calculated risks in the film industry. Vijan's determination to bring Stree to life, despite initial doubts, has paid off, and the production house continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in Bollywood.
