Ella Purnell, the lead actress of the Amazon Prime Video series Fallout, has spoken out about the online reactions to the show's first season. Despite receiving praise, the series faced criticism from some original fans, but Purnell remains focused on her role. In an interview with HT, Purnell discussed her character Lucy and the show's second season, which premiered in Tokyo before its release on Amazon Prime Video on December 17, 2025. The new season sees Lucy searching for her father, Hank, who was revealed to be a complex character in the season one finale. Purnell has had limited screen time with co-star Kyla MacLachlan, but she believes this actually helps her performance. "It's a blessing in disguise," Purnell said. "I get to hold on to those memories and emotions from the first season, and it's been a great experience." Purnell also expressed her faith in the show's creators, writers, and crew, who she believes have worked tirelessly to bring the series to life. "I don't spend a lot of time on the internet, and I don't feel the need to engage with online reactions," Purnell explained. "My job is to make my character as truthful and relatable as possible, and the rest is out of my control." Purnell also hinted at Easter eggs for fans of the original games in the new season, saying she hopes they will enjoy the show. Fallout season 2 brings back the original cast, including Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Walton Goggins. The first episode will premiere on December 17, 2025, with the remaining episodes released weekly through February 4, 2026.
