It's no secret that social media has changed the way we consume cinema, and filmmakers are taking note. Suresh Triveni, a veteran adman turned filmmaker, admits that even the editing of many films is affected by the audience's attention span. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Triveni spoke about his upcoming film, Maa Behen, and the impact of social media on comedy and filmmaking.

Triveni's shift to comedy with Maa Behen marks a drastic change from his previous dramas like Jalsa and Subedaar. He believes that comedy sets are easier on actors and allows him to be less guilty as a director. The film, starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, and Dharna Durga, among others, explores the trend of using social media memes and virality in comedies.

While Triveni acknowledges the change in technique and attention span, he emphasizes the importance of classic storytelling. He believes that once a story engages the audience, they are less likely to look at their phones. Maa Behen releases on Netflix on June 4.
