Former world No.1 pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are confident of winning their second title in a week's time in the Thailand Open Super 1000 badminton tournament. They will face Malaysian combination of Kang Khai Xing and Aaron Tai in their opening match.

The duo had broken their title drought in Singapore, defeating Indonesia's Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in the men's doubles final. This was their maiden Singapore Open title and their first doubles title at the tournament.

They had reached finals four times before but finished runners-up on each occasion. PV Sindhu, who exited in the quarterfinals in Singapore, will open her campaign against Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand. If she progresses to the next round, she might face nemesis and top seed An Se Young of Korea.
