At just six projects into his acting career, Aditya Rawal has already made a name for himself playing complex and twisted characters. In his latest Amazon Prime Video series, Daldal, he takes on the role of a reluctant serial killer, alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Samara Tijori. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Aditya shares his thoughts on typecasting, privilege, and the importance of taking on challenging roles early in his career. He believes that being offered complex characters is a privilege, as it allows him to showcase his skills and grow as an actor. Aditya has played a range of 'dark' roles, including an Islamic militant in Faraaz, a trigger-happy gangster in Bambai Meri Jaan, and now a killer with a moral conscience in Daldal. He emphasizes that as he gains experience, he plans to diversify his roles and take on more nuanced characters. "I don't see it as black or white, dark or light," Aditya says. "I would argue that the character I play in this show is perhaps one of the few you will feel bad for." Daldal is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, offering audiences a glimpse into Aditya's portrayal of a complex and multi-dimensional character.
