Jaideep Ahlawat Recalls Dharmendra's Warm On-Set Presence: 'He Makes You Feel Like Family'

It's been a month since Bollywood legend Dharmendra left us, but his presence still shines bright on the silver screen in Ikkis. The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, tells the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a Param Vir Chakra awardee who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. In the movie, Agastya Nanda plays Arun, while Dharmendra portrays his father Brigadier Madan Lal Khetarpal (Retd.). Co-star Jaideep Ahlawat, who played Brigadier Jaan Mohammad Nisar from Pakistan, has shared fond memories of working with the late actor. In an interview, Jaideep reminisced about Dharmendra's warm and loving on-set presence, saying, 'You feel lucky to be part of a project where the legend is there.' He fondly recalled the superstar's ability to make everyone feel at ease, often cracking jokes and sharing stories. 'He makes you feel like family,' Jaideep said. The actor also expressed how working with Dharmendra had been an incredible experience, one that he would always treasure. After Dharmendra's passing, Jaideep had shared a heartfelt note and unseen photos with the superstar, highlighting the impact he had on his life.
