It's been a year since industrialist Sunjay Kapur passed away in London while golfing, leaving behind a family embroiled in court cases over his inheritance. On the first anniversary of his death, Sunjay's mother, Rani Kapur, and wife, Priya Kapur, seem to have put aside their differences to honor his legacy.
Priya posted a joint note with Rani on Friday, remembering Sunjay as a man who 'never believed in standing still' and 'embraced life with energy, curiosity and conviction.' The note highlights his inspiring personality and the values he lived by.
The note is signed by Rani, Priya, and their family, and Priya captioned it, 'A year without you. Still the first thought in the morning and the last thought at night.'
The Kapur family is currently in the midst of a mediation process over Sunjay's inheritance, with former Chief Justice DY Chandrachud as their mediator. The Supreme Court had asked Rani and Priya not to take any action that could affect the mediation proceedings.
The dispute revolves around Sunjay's will, which left his entire estate to Priya, and allegations of her forging the will and filing an incomplete list of assets. The Delhi High Court had frozen his assets amid the ₹30,000 crore inheritance dispute.
