Peddi, starring Ram Charan, is a film that tests your patience before winning you over. Director Buchi Babu Sana asks pertinent questions about identity and dignity in a world that often disregards the marginalized.

The film follows Peddi, a cricket player from a nameless village in Vizianagaram, who fights for his clan's identity through sports. With a stellar performance from Ram Charan, the film shines in its kushti and sprinting scenes, showcasing the lead character's tenacity and heart.

However, the first half of the film feels like a set-up for Janhvi Kapoor's character, Achiyamma, who is reduced to a manic pixie dream girl and objectified in uncomfortable ways. The feud between Peddi and Rambujji also feels like a set-up for a cool fight scene rather than a way to further the conversation about dignity.

Despite its flaws, Peddi brings forth an important conversation about how much a person should lose to get what's rightfully theirs. The film is a win for both Buchi and Ram, with AR Rahman's music adding to the overall impact.
