Peddi, the sports action drama film starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, has shown no signs of slowing down at the box office. Despite mixed reviews and controversy surrounding its portrayal of Janhvi's character, the film has collected ₹179.35 crore in India, with ₹9.65 crore net coming in on Tuesday.
The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has performed better in Telugu than in Hindi, with an occupancy of 26.51% from 7554 shows. Peddi had an opening of ₹51 crore and brought in ₹18.50 crore from its premieres, but has since dipped in occupancy.
However, the film has managed to stay steady, collecting ₹26.90 crore on Friday, ₹29.10 crore on Saturday, and ₹32.15 crore on Sunday. Peddi has become the highest-grossing South Indian film of the year and the highest-grossing Telugu film, beating the lifetime collections of films such as Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par.
