The Raja Saab, a pan-India release starring Prabhas, has reportedly collected ₹138.30 crore at the worldwide box office by the end of day 2. The film's overseas collection stands at ₹30 crore, while its India net collection is ₹90.75 crore. This sluggish start raises concerns about the film's prospects for a successful weekend. For comparison, Prabhas' last film, Kalki 2898 AD, had collected ₹298 crore by day 2. The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment, had a grand release on January 9 in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Prabhas, who had high hopes for the film, expressed his enthusiasm in a recent interview. He credited Maruthi's writing and the film's unique blend of horror and comedy for its potential to become a blockbuster. However, the initial response to the film suggests that it may not meet expectations. In a review, a prominent publication noted that the film's reliance on familiar tropes and lack of depth may hinder its ability to truly entertain audiences. With the competition from other Sankranti releases, The Raja Saab faces an uphill battle to become a commercial success.
