Rescuers have pulled out two workers from the rubble of a collapsed hotel in the Philippines, bringing the death toll to three with 17 others still missing.
One of the workers was found dead while the other was pronounced dead in an ambulance after emergency personnel struggled to revive him.
The hotel, which was under construction, collapsed in Angeles City in the northern Philippines, leaving hundreds of rescuers scrambling to extricate the trapped workers.
Rescuers tried to provide water and medicine to one of the trapped workers, but he never made it despite their efforts.
A third victim, a Malaysian tourist, was trapped in a nearby budget inn that was partly hit by the debris.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin said rescue efforts would continue, with the hope of rescuing more people alive.
Relatives of the trapped workers are waiting anxiously near the rubble, with some expressing fear and anxiety about the slow rescue work.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation, with the national police chief promising to support an investigation into possible safety and building regulations violations.
