Singapore's Sree Narayana Mission has called for public-private support to address the challenges of an ageing population across the Asia-Pacific region.
The mission, inspired by Indian philosopher Narayana Guru, has urged stakeholders to examine policy evolution and emerging service delivery models.
Chief executive S Devendran stressed the need for coordinated action across government, social service agencies, healthcare providers, community organisations, and private sector partners for elderly care.
Devendran, a former army officer, has been associated with the mission for a decade and has been honoured with the 'Ageing Asia Global Ageing Trailblazer 2026 Award'.
The Singapore government has been supporting the mission, which has opened two nursing homes and five elderly care centres with its help.
