A bomb threat in Hampton, Virginia prompted a massive police response on Wednesday. The Hampton Police Division reported a suspicious package found in the 2000 block of Nickerson Boulevard, prompting evacuations and a thorough investigation.
Police cars with flashing lights were seen at the scene, with authorities setting up crime scene tape in the area. The Newport News Bomb Squad was also on the scene, and residents were asked to evacuate immediately.
Initially, a medical call was reported at 12:21pm, but it turned into a suspicious package scene, according to WAVY. Photos showed police vehicles near a Food Lion and Dunkin'.
The investigation remains active, with no official confirmation of any explosives or threats. Residents who were at the scene shared their experiences, including one who claimed to have been in the Food Lion when it was evacuated.
