India's Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) between Canada and India could be finalized earlier than expected.

The deadline for concluding negotiations was set at the end of this year, but Goyal suggested that the sincerity of the negotiating teams could lead to an even faster delivery.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has reportedly shortened the deadline to end of November, aiming to conclude the deal before the G20 Leaders' Summit in December.

The agreement aims to increase bilateral trade from $17 billion to $50 billion by 2030, which Goyal described as an 'eminently doable' goal.
