A disturbing new security video has been released, showing the chilling moments leading up to the murder of 19-year-old trans University of Washington student Juniper Blessing. The footage captures 31-year-old Christopher Leahy stalking Blessing in an off-campus housing laundry room minutes before the fatal attack.

Leahy, who is not enrolled at the University, was charged with first-degree murder after turning himself in to police on May 12. The video shows Leahy entering the laundry room behind another student, before abruptly leaving and returning again around 10 pm when Blessing is seen sitting alone.

Prosecutors claim that Leahy unplugged the security camera before fatally stabbing Blessing, who was a student of Atmospheric Science and a talented musician. Additional surveillance videos show Leahy attempting to open doors in several homes in the neighborhood earlier.

Blessing's family has released a statement, describing them as 'the most amazing human being' who was 'courageously living their life as who they were.' They have asked for respect and privacy during this difficult time.
