Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND) reported a significant increase in Chinese military activity around its territory, with 8 PLAN vessels, 5 official ships, and 7 sorties of PLA aircraft detected on Tuesday.

The 7 sorties entered Taiwan's southwestern part ADIZ, prompting a response from the #ROCArmedForces, which have been monitoring the situation.

This escalation comes after a similar detection on Monday, when 7 PLAN vessels and 4 official ships were spotted around Taiwan.

The issue of Taiwan's status remains a contentious point in international relations, with China claiming the island as an inseparable part of its territory and Taiwan maintaining its distinct identity.

China's claim dates back to the Qing Dynasty's annexation of the island in 1683, while Taiwan's status tests the principles of sovereignty, self-determination, and non-interference in international law.
