Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, delivered a heartfelt commencement address at Hillsdale College on Saturday. As the CEO of Turning Point USA, she reflected on her late husband's passion for learning, faith, and 'defending liberty.'
During her speech, Erika shared a personal story from their honeymoon, where Charlie continued to use an emergency phone to keep up with online courses, showcasing his dedication to learning. She encouraged graduates to pursue 'truth,' uphold traditional values, and 'defend liberty' in the spirit of her late husband.
Erika also urged students to embrace intentional living and meaningful choices, rather than being overwhelmed by endless options. She honored her husband's legacy, calling it a 'fantastic blueprint' for the graduates to emulate.
Dr. Larry Arnn, the president of Hillsdale College, awarded Erika and her late husband two honorary degrees of public service, with one being a posthumous tribute to Charlie Kirk.
