The Palestinian Embassy to India has issued an urgent appeal for medical aid, stating that the healthcare system in the Occupied Palestinian Territory has reached a breaking point.
The Embassy cited World Health Organization data, saying that only 19 out of 36 hospitals in the territory remain partially operational, with a critical shortage of medicines, equipment, and fuel to run hospital generators.
The Embassy highlighted the need for medical evacuation of thousands of patients, citing the deteriorating treatment facilities and the spread of diseases such as skin diseases, rodent-related infections, and the presence of thousands of bodies trapped under rubble.
The crisis extends into the West Bank and East Jerusalem, with financial constraints limiting the Ministry of Health's ability to provide services to the needy public.
The Palestinian Embassy called upon the international community, and specifically the Government of India, for life-saving medical supplies valued at $100 million.
