Despite progress in US-Iran peace talks, Israel's military operations in Lebanon have hit a snag, prompting Iran to threaten to walk away from the deal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the expansion of military operations in Lebanon, targeting the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah, after capturing the Beaufort castle.

Iran has called for Lebanon's inclusion in the ceasefire, but both Israel and the US have stated that Israeli activities in Lebanon will remain separate from the ongoing conflict with Iran.

Iran has warned of greater consequences for the US and Israel, including blocking the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, in response to Israel's bombardment in Lebanon.
