US Vice President JD Vance has spoken out about his dramatic shift in opinion regarding President Donald Trump, admitting he had no understanding of the president's true nature before working closely with him in the White House.
Vance, who was one of Trump's most vocal Republican critics in 2016, revealed that his earlier criticism stemmed from a lack of personal knowledge of the president.
He said working closely with Trump gave him 'insider knowledge' and exposed him to a side of the president he had never seen before, describing Trump as 'very warm,' 'very loving' toward his family, and 'incredibly generous.'
Vance also disputed long-standing portrayals of Trump as unintelligent, describing him as 'super smart' and claiming he could 'guarantee' Trump would score higher on an IQ test than most, if not all, previous US presidents.
