At least one person has lost their life and 11 others have been injured in a shooting incident in Midland, Texas, on Friday morning. Mayor Lori Blong confirmed that the suspect has been contained.
Nine victims are currently receiving treatment at Midland Memorial Hospital, with four undergoing surgery and five in stable condition.
Midland Police Chief Greg Snow stated that officers detected gunfire emanating from a building in the southwestern region of the city and promptly secured the vicinity.
Authorities are advising residents in the vicinity of the 4600 block of West Wall Street to remain indoors while the situation is ongoing.
The identity of the shooting suspect has not been confirmed, and none of the victims were police officers.
