Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY Show co-host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for months. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos recently commented on the case, stating that DNA analysis remains the primary focus of the probe.

The sheriff disclosed that the influx of tips has slowed down, but they continue to arrive. He also clarified that a 'masked man' video, showing a person stealing plants near Guthrie's residence, is not connected to her disappearance.

Authorities are examining DNA evidence found inside and around Guthrie's residence, including gloves discovered miles away. Genetic genealogy testing is being conducted to 'backtrack' and 'create a family tree' of a possible suspect.

Genetic genealogy has been instrumental in apprehending criminals in several high-profile cases, including the 'Golden State Killer' case. The sheriff also mentioned that blood droplets discovered on Guthrie's front porch matched the missing woman herself, but further DNA testing is being conducted.
