Authorities are examining DNA evidence found inside and around Guthrie's residence, including gloves discovered miles away. Genetic genealogy testing is being conducted to 'backtrack' and 'create a family tree' of a possible suspect.

The sheriff also mentioned that blood droplets discovered on Guthrie's front porch matched the missing woman herself, but further DNA testing is being conducted.
