Brandon Clarke, a 29-year-old former Memphis Grizzlies forward, has passed away, leaving the NBA community in shock. Despite initial claims of suicide, a cause of death has not been announced. Clarke's family has yet to release a statement.
Clarke played seven seasons for the Grizzlies, averaging 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. However, his tenure was marred by injury struggles, including a severe left Achilles tear in 2023 and a knee injury in the 2025-26 season.
Just six weeks before his death, Clarke was arrested in Arkansas for speeding and possessing and trafficking a controlled substance, Kratom.
