Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir drew a sharp rebuke from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after releasing videos taunting detained flotilla activists who tried to breach Israel's blockade of Gaza.

Ben-Gvir released videos showing him walking among the approximately 430 detainees, with one activist shouting 'Free Palestine' as he was pushed to the ground by security personnel.

Netanyahu called for the quick deportation of the activists, saying they should be imprisoned for a long time, but also instructed that they be deported 'as soon as possible.'

Ben-Gvir's actions drew the ire of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, who publicly chastised his fellow minister on X, saying 'you knowingly caused harm to our State in this disgraceful display.'

Israel's leader has faced criticism from around the world, with the U.K. government demanding an explanation and Italy condemning the detained activists' treatment as a violation of human dignity.
