NJ Transit services have resumed on the Amtrak line across the Hudson River after a brush fire incident, but passengers can expect up to 90 minutes of delays. The fire near one of the Hudson River Tunnels caused hundreds of passengers to be stranded inside trains near Penn Station.
Initially, NJ Transit had announced 30-minute delays, but the situation escalated, and rail service into and out of Penn Station New York was suspended. Midtown Direct trains were diverted to Hoboken as officials worked to manage the disruption.
Authorities cross-honored NJ Transit rail tickets and passes on NJ Transit and private carrier buses, as well as PATH services at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken, and 33rd Street in Manhattan.
