Three supertankers carrying crude oil have successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz, with trackers switched off to avoid Iranian attacks, highlighting a growing trend to sustain Middle East oil exports.

Two very large crude carriers (VLCCs), the Agios Fanourios I and the Kiara M, carrying 2 million barrels of Iraqi crude each, passed through the strait on Sunday, according to shipping data from Kpler and LSEG.

The Agios Fanourios I is headed to Vietnam to discharge its cargo at the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical facility on May 26, while the Kiara M's destination remains unclear.

These developments underscore the increasing use of 'dark' transits, where tankers disable their tracking systems to avoid detection and potential attacks in the region.
