Pakistan has awarded a two-year contract worth $1.2 million to US lobby firm Erwin Graves Strategies, reversing its decision to scale down lobbying operations in Washington.

The firm will assist the Pakistani embassy in outreach with the US Congress, key agencies, think tanks, and media organizations, while promoting Pakistan as an attractive investment destination for US firms.

Erwin Graves will also support Pakistan's efforts to revive the Defence Consultative Group (DCG) with the US government and respond to legislative initiatives that could impact Pakistan's status as a major non-Nato ally.

This move comes after Pakistan scaled down its lobbying operation in February, severing ties with several high-profile firms linked to the Trump administration.

Pakistan's previous lobbying blitz saw the country spend a record $600,000 a month, but it was outspent by India, which hired two lobbying firms to assist its outreach in Washington.
