Security forces in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have killed 21 terrorists in a series of intelligence-based operations over the last three days, the military's media wing said.

Among those killed were four ring leaders belonging to Fitna-al-Khwarij, a term used for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), wanted for their involvement in numerous terrorist activities.

A total of 48 khwarij have been killed since last week in the operations, which have also recovered weapons and ammunition.

Sanitisation operations will continue to eliminate remaining terrorists in the area under the Counter Terrorism campaign by security forces and law enforcement agencies.
