A retired Pima County sheriff's deputy believes investigators in the Nancy Guthrie case already have suspects' names, but may not recognize them amidst tens of thousands of leads.

Robbie Mayer, a former detective who solved Tucson's infamous 'Prime Time Rapist' case in 1986, shared his insights on the Guthrie case, as reported by News 4 Tucson.

Like in the Larriva case, investigators reportedly have a large number of leads in Nancy's case, with over 50,000 to sift through.

Mayer theorized that more than one person may have been involved in Nancy's case, possibly as part of a theft group that targeted elderly people with money in Phoenix two years ago.

However, he acknowledged that a lot remains unknown, and the case is unique due to the lack of patterns and evidence left behind by the perpetrators.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has reportedly said that the Forensics Department is getting closer to identifying whose blood was found on Nancy's property, which could soon be revealed.
