A massive power outage in Reno, Nevada, has left nearly 70,000 people without electricity. The outage, which occurred on Tuesday, has affected areas including Virginia City Highlands, Washoe Valley, and Southwest Reno.

NV Energy has acknowledged the situation and stated that over 8,000 customers are without power in the area. The affected zip codes include 89431, 89434, and 89436.

The Sparks Fire Department informed that NV Energy had deactivated power to the area as the fire burned for over 30 acres. However, it is unclear if the current outages are due to the deactivation or something else.

A map shared by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company shows the parts of Vallejo impacted by the power outage.

Currently, there is no timeline for the power to be restored in Reno, with NV Energy stating that no estimated time of restoration is available at this time.

Scary videos have emerged showing entire areas plunged into darkness, with many expressing frustration at the lack of electricity.
