A man stabbed and wounded four people at Winterthur train station in northeastern Switzerland on Thursday before being arrested.

The attack occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. at the station near Zurich.

The suspect, a 31-year-old Swiss man, was taken into custody after the incident.

Witnesses reported the attacker shouted 'Allahu Akbar' during the attack.

A group of school children narrowly escaped harm after a teacher intervened to protect them.

The motive behind the stabbing remains under investigation.
