Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old student accused of stabbing fellow student Austin Metcalf to death during a high school track meet, reportedly gave a chilling six-word threat before the murder.
The high-profile case is heading to trial on Monday, June 1, with Anthony facing a possible sentence of 5-99 years or life in prison if convicted.
According to witnesses, Anthony warned, “touch me and see what happens,” while reaching inside his bag and pulling out a black knife, which he allegedly used to stab Metcalf once in the chest.
Metcalf died in his twin brother Hunter Metcalf’s arms, and the family has since spoken out about the incident, with Anthony’s mother expressing concerns about safety and public scrutiny ahead of the trial.
