US President Donald Trump has called for the cancellation of upcoming concerts celebrating America's 250th anniversary, suggesting they be replaced by a political rally headlined by himself.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed the concerts should be 'cancelled' and replaced with a 'giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY'.
Several musical acts have already backed out of the event, citing its politicization.
Trump has openly tried to stamp his mark on the celebrations, staging a mixed martial arts fight on the White House lawn on his 80th birthday.
The remaining line-up of musicians, including Vanilla Ice and C C Music Factory, has sparked a flood of sarcastic comments on social media.
