President Donald Trump's administration has been accused of redirecting $352 million in federal funds meant for the Secret Service towards his controversial White House ballroom project.

The funds were drawn from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a tax legislation passed last summer, which stipulates the money may only be spent on Secret Service personnel, training facilities, technology, and related costs.

About $340.8 million of the funding was placed into an account labeled “Procurement, Construction, and Improvements” on June 12, with another $10.75 million approved the same day under an “Operations and Support” account.

According to internal records, the project's total costs could reach $600 million, with $155 million expected to come from the Secret Service alone.

Trump has repeatedly claimed the project will cost $400 million and be funded entirely by private donors, but the transfer of Secret Service funds has raised alarms among senior legislators.
