Sonny Joy Nelson, a top aide to former President Trump, is departing the White House to establish her own media booking and communications consulting firm, Cornerstone Strategics. Nelson, who has served as the special assistant to the President and White House director of media affairs, is expecting her second child this autumn.

Nelson, a proud native of North Carolina, was among the initial communications hires for Trump's 2024 campaign and has been involved in various communications positions within Trumpworld since 2020.

She is married to Sam Klingsporn, a former lacrosse athlete, and they have a one-year-old son named Isaiah Samuel. Nelson is anticipating the arrival of her second child, a boy, this autumn.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt praised Nelson, saying she is the 'best media booker in the business' with an extensive network of media contacts. Nelson's new firm, Cornerstone Strategics, aims to create media that looks good and communicates something real and lasting.
