US President Donald Trump will meet with China's Xi Jinping in Beijing, focusing on easing trade tensions and discussing Iran, tariffs, and Taiwan.

The visit will feature pomp and ceremony, including a tour of the Temple of Heaven and a state banquet.

Trump will push Xi on Iran, seeking to apply pressure over the ongoing war and recent US sanctions.

The two leaders will also discuss extending a year-long trade truce and the creation of a 'Board of Trade' grouping officials to identify areas of mutual interest in trade.

Taiwan and the race for AI technology and critical minerals are also set to come up in the meeting.
