The Nancy Guthrie case has brought back haunting memories of a notorious Tucson predator, Brian Larriva, who terrorized women from 1983 to 1986.
Larriva, dubbed the Prime Time Rapist, targeted over 90 victims and committed more than 30 home invasions, including some in Nancy's neighborhood.
He took his own life when police surrounded his house, but the case shares eerie similarities with the Guthrie case, including tens of thousands of leads and a lack of DNA evidence.
Former detective Robbie Mayer, who solved the Prime Time Rapist case, believes the suspect's name may be hidden in the 50,000 leads, and the FBI is getting closer to solving the case.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has pushed back on claims that the Guthrie case is a cold case, saying it will only be considered one if the labs cannot identify the blood evidence.
