United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio hinted at a possible deal with Iran, calling it 'good news' for the world.
Rubio, in Delhi, said an announcement on the US-Iran conflict was likely in 'a few hours', following US President Donald Trump's statement on a 60-day ceasefire extension.
The proposed peace deal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, allowing Iran to sell its oil, and addressing US concerns on the strait.
However, Iran has demanded an end to the US naval blockade, release of its foreign assets, and an end to sanctions on its oil sales.
Differences remain over one or two clauses, including the nuclear program, but a draft stipulates the US and its allies will not attack Iran or its allies, and Iran pledges not to launch preemptive attacks.
